Is google cheating?

Discussion in 'AdSense' started by nicuz, Feb 4, 2007.

I use Adlogger to prevent any click bombing. When I compared Adlogger and Adsense reports I've noticed that almost half of the clicks do not show up in the adsense report . According to Adlogger all the click are made from different ip addreses and are made on different articles on my website. I don't know how accurate Adlogger is, but I was just wondering if there is any reasons that the clicks on adsense are not taken in consideration?

    Thanks

Even if Adlogger is not accurate, I wouldn't call that cheating. Google is the one that pays me not Adlogger.

adlogger stats are not 100% accurate and google deserve the right to not pay for any click they think is a fraud.

adlogger counts right clicks as clicks! that could be the reason.

I guess it all comes down to trust. If your not happy with adsense where do you go. I see some problems no doubt but most sites do not pay as much.

Pretty much same deal with any program watch all hits and see if they make you what they should. Try different programs or own affiliate programs and see if you make more.

Nothing is as accurate as the AdSense system, it's the only real source for the data since they track it directly without any funky javascript tracking tools by third parties. Google will always be right on this one.

I agree but still, almost half of the clicks don't show up in adsense stats. I really doubt that Adlogger will just make up so many clicks. And when I say don't show up, I don't mean that I don't get paid for the click, but they are not counted as clicks.

Still it is an interesting thought. I mean everybody is so scared to shake the money tree they wouldn't even consider taking action if it were the case. Legally they must have a right to explain why they aren't following through on all clicks. Or do they? They have quite a TOS.

I have no idea about the validity of these claims since I don't use click tracking software... would be fun to see a few hundred thousand publishers file a class action though.

    I am fantasizing, I know.

Sometimes adlogger shows 8-10 from single user and it shows lots like this, I think google pays only for the first click and no more for the next clicks..

When will you people learn that adlogger is horribly inaccurate. There is no way to detect a click-through on an adsense ad, period. Unless you're on the receiving end of that ad, like google is. You can track mouseovers, right clicks, clicks that are dragged away, etc, if you've looked into how javascript works and what methods work in each browser, you'd see how inaccurate a program claiming to track all adsense clicks is. My point is, adlogger overestimates... deal with it. It's either delayed accurate tracking (Google) or bad tracking (Adlogger), take your pick.

Google could easily adjust the % they pay out to publishers. There would be no point in them just not paying you for clicks.

I wonder how much they have to lose if there was some kind of 'click payout scandal'.
The fall from $481.50 per share is a big one, the shareholders wouldn't be happy.
