I feel like I am falling behind. Did Google start showing the IP based results? I see people visiting my sites from google.com for specific keywords, then I search google.com for the keywords I was on the first page and I cant find my sites. Could someone give me an idea whether that's just me or everyone else experiences it. My sites are cached but dont show up in the results. for example I have www.mobileinfos.com on the 3rd or 4th page in google.com for "mobile news" now I cant find it...
No, You're not even in the first page. I has just google'd it [google.com] with and without quotes. Are you using the geographical targeting option from the google webmaster tools??
no I dont use geographical targeting. there is one automatically set for www.mobile.am but not for www.mobileinfos.com
Google have some problems now a days , i don't know what kind of problems , maybe they are updating them system but its really weird . in last 10 days i search lot of keywords on google and every time i get Different Result , some time its show that A site is on first Position (not mine by the way) and when i search it again it'll not show in first 10 pages , after some time its once again at First position ... i saw these results with lot of keywords , i don't know whats happening but i really don't like this , its made me mad and confused about google
I have seen your site ranked on the second page at #16 via Google.com based on my IP location. However, your site is not ranked top 1000 in Google.com via USA based IP. It may be a big jump for your site in a soon. Wait and see.
This is one reason why I keep my statcounter account instead of just using G A. Stat counter will not only show the keywords but when you click on the keywords they will show what page you in the serps the visitor came in on. Visitors have came in to my site even though I was on the 20th page.
statcounter is good but still keeping a few stat services is not of use for the website visitors since it slows down the loading process. I think google is starting the IP based results. This means SEO getting shot in heart since SEO will not be possible to outsource and you loose your rankings worldwide if you have a regional domain
Google have been implementing a lot of changes since the beginning of the year... However, I've done many different searches using different IP's and guess what? Google provided me with a whole different results based on the IP Address, so IMO i think they have already implemented the IP Based Results
I dont like this. really maybe for some users its smth good but for webmasters, optimization and etc.... not so much
Yes, I have the same problem. My site: www, hairstraightening, net has a good SERP for keyword "hair straightening", listed on the 1st page 1 or 2 weeks ago. But now, I can't find it even out of the 10th page!! Why? Dose google is under updating??
I understand Google's intention, but lets take a look from another point of view. I had a great portal www.mobile.am Yes its a regional domain (.am=Armenia) but my site is in 20+ languages and provides mobile phone specifications not only in Armenian but in 20 other languages, this means, though its .am its worldwide and Google at no way should classify it as a regional website and position me higher only in Armenia. So at some point Google is right trying to make the search better, but still this is not the case with sites having regional TLDs but providing information worldwide. In this case I think that the webmaster tools should give an option of setting the website as international (at least).
