I agree with you, seems that Google has banned IPs of mass-pr-checkers. Maybe is an attempt to fight against paid link networks ?
Yes, seems that Google has banned those IPs, and is returning HTTP 403 errors (Access Denied/Forbidden) to those queries. Maybe is an attempt to fight against paid link networks like yours (TNX.net) ?
I doubt this has anything to do with paid links, though I suppose this presents a problem for buyers and trust issues for sellers. The world does not revolve around paid links and going after valdiation only makes opportunities for scammers. It certainly won't affect the volume of links sales, though it will make those transactions more tense. Besides, PR has other uses than selling links-like helping to value a site for sale. It seems like a perfectly valid use of PR checkers and probably is just as common as just buying links. Google just can't handle the server stresses of all those muti-DC queries since the update. I personally have been to Digpagerank more than I care to admit, as I'm watching my pages for slips. I do hope they get it sorted...
Watch Google stock fall for the past few days -$80 in 2 days is crazy for investors. If Google does not bring PR back in 2 days (when stock market is closed) Monday is going to sound like hell for Google guys when market opens at 8am Believe it or not, there is a reason for that! Google is finally giving up
Possibly. I'd say more likely though, they're upgrading something, and don't want to overstress the system. They seem to have lightened up a little. Not quite back to normal though.
I was wondering all my internal domaining tools have stopped showing the PR before i read this thread.. It will be a great loss to the domaining market if this does not come back :-(
I just checked pagerank on www.digpagerank.com and www.checkpagerank.com for multiple sites and they are showing PR N/A anyone else see this ?
