Is google base similar to Digg.com ?

Anyone can give me idea about google base?? i visit it and i realize its just like digg.com.. is it?

 

Digg is intended for news and information, Google Base is more appropriate for products or services of some sort. I've never really found Google Base all the useful personally (as opposed to Digg), but maybe I wasn't using it right.

He isn't saying that Google is based on Digg. He is asking is Google Base is similar to Digg.

I just visit 2 days ago and i thought may be it is similar to digg
Because what i got in my mind about google base is that,
it put your online/offline document(in this case online page from my web) with URL and a description text and select a category to post this link.. thats digg is doing i think...

Can anybody explain about google base if i am wrong

 

Digg promotes stories based on the number of votes they get. You can only post a link to the story rather than the entire story.

Google base is something totally different. You post content rather than links.
