Ya, but I wouldn't bother paying for it myself as most sites charge for this. While a few sites may offer free real time stats, they are usually lacking in other areas such as not telling you the bounce rate or referring websites. Personally, I think Google Analytics is the best way to go and waiting until the next day to get stats isn't that big of a deal to me.

    statcounter

and for that reason I MUCH prefer it to google analytics. You can track an individual as they move through your site in real-time - do that a few times and I think you've got a much better view of how people are using your site, in a way that GA doesn't tell you.

Reinvigorate is one of the best analytic sites out there. Everything is real time and you can even download an app for Mac or Win to watch traffic as it comes to your site.

RIght now it's an invite-only beta, but they hand out logins every now and then.

Google Analytics is a great tool, since it shows what Google is picking up. If you rely on Google for business then I suggest using Google analytics

For free... there is not a better tool out there. And GA is not necessarily real-time, there is a 4-5 hour lag in statistics (at least that's what they tell us in training). There are a bunch of cool analytics tools out there for free or are still in beta:
    http://www.robotreplay.com/
    http://crazyegg.com/

Just a few, but neither of these provides the full solution that GA does. And as someone already mentioned, if you are working with AdWords, the compatibility between the two is priceless.

Well my experiences with analytics is not good- I can gracefully say it absolutely sucked in my case, not picking up 1/10 of the stats.

Statcounter is the best free option I found- Truely Great when used against other stat software also

The only faults that I find with GA are -

    1. Not Real time
    2. The pages from which the link came are not correct sometimes.

If you are really serious about getting the proper stats for your site, downloading your log files and analyzing them with software such as WebLog Expert is a better choice (I suggested this as it is one of the cheaper softwares of its kind. You can get the Lite version for free).

As Google Anayltics and other javascript based Counters/trackers do not work at all with Javascript disabled browsers, you miss out entirely on those stats. By analyzing your our log files, you can see a myriad of data, and if you see the example report for the WebLog Expert, stuff right down to the city/suburb your users are coming from.
