It's no doubt that the Google Analytics data is correct, how you get the 500 visitors ? it's probably wrong.
Try using another traffic analytic as well....but personally I think there is no way you get 500 visitors from twitter... [sarcams]How many followers do you have ? 50.000 ?[/sarcams]
What I sometimes do with a new website is sending myself an e-mail each time a visitor comes to my website. It is always funny to see it go from one per week to many per day. in this case, if you doubt about who is correct.., put some mail script on your page for a few days. See what happens.
Hi, I have found google analytics data is not matching with my other user tracking tools. So I have left tracking analytics now a days.
i would say always take analytics results with a pinch of salt, but that is a huge difference, as people suggested is your analytics set up correctly?
Usually when you get the 401 error, it means that you do not have the correct username password. We required administrator to insert the encrypted gmail address (as the username) and the encrypted gmail password in the web.config.
I checked my GA data with statcounter and the both report about the same number of visits, so yes, GA is correct.
I've got two analytic system running and the figures I get from Google are more or less spot on with what I'm seeing logged directly on the web server - If you were getting an extra 500 visits to a URL you would see a spike on the GA for that page?
I believe Google Analytics than any other tracking programs. May be you have not installed analytics properly on every pages or your second tracking tool give wrong information.
