Yes definitely it helps to increase your website PR. I have also added G+ button to my all sites.

Yes it is proving a very important step for seo.
more +1 means more good image on google and higher search engine ranking on google.

In my opinion Google +1 could be a way to boost your website's rankings.If your intention is to try to increase and to improve your search engine rankings to organic traffic this could be a way to do it.

Since adding +1 to the sites, one of my Google analytic groups is up 120% in traffic. It is defiantly worth it.
