Is Game Promoter worth investment

I'm an independent iOS developer and I recently released my first iOS game Rob Me. Now I'm trying to find third party marketing professionals to promote my app, and came across Game Promoter, did anyone have an experience with them in the past? I'm hesitating to opt-in for their $500 PR Campaign service, would that be good investment especially when on tight budget (can't go beyond 500)? I'm open to other suggestions otherwise.

    Any insights would be appreciated!

Hi, first of all, good luck with your game!:)

I have no experience with the company you mention, so I don't know whether their offer is worth it or not. What do they offer in the "basic" package anyway? But I would guess that for a small budget they will just do the bare minimum (would love to be proved wrong). You should definitely try to search for reviews - and maybe even ask the company for some detailed user testiomonials and credentials. You should not be afraid of doing the proper steps first just because you are a "small" potential customer. If you haven't heard about the company from other devs you know etc., then you should definitely search for some other feedback before committing.

Personally, I think you could try your hand at promoting your game on your own. This way you can put all the budget towards actually marketing your game (instead of paying someone's wage for doing the same thing). Doing a PR/marketing on a tight budget is possible and you can learn most of what you need to know online (and for free). However, this WILL take some of your time every day - which might or might not be a deal-breaker.

I hope this helps, good luck.

I know $500 sounds like a lot, and it is, but I'm not sure what kind of a return on your investment you'd get with their entry level package.

If you're on a tight budget, $500 might be a drop in the bucket as far as online promotion goes, I can just tell you from personal experience. Although I don't have specific experience with Game Promoter, I've used other PR companies in the past and in my experience, it might be a better investment to market yourself, unless you have a large budget to play with to experiment.

Why don't you try and promote the game via social media?

Talk to game reviewers on YouTube as well as online sites. Give them samples of your game. Let them try and it. Of course, there is always the possibility that they may not like the game. It is a risk that you will have to take. It might be a good learning experience, and you will also learn what you need to improve on your game.
