same here . Froogle doesnt get you huge amount of traffic. But conversion rate is much higher as froogle bring some really targetted traffic
I have been using Froogle for a little over a year now and it has been successful for me. I sell automotive products and it seems to be an attractive product for consumers on Froogle. Also, Froogle displays results on Google search called one box and this also has been good for me too.
Angela's right, no one knows about it. If it were called 'Google Shopping' and obvious on the main page then loads of people would use it, but google aren't Yahoo! I get only a trickle of my traffic from it, but its free and targeted.
It only really works when google decide to put a listing on top of the natural listing page - which they do when they think it's particualrly relevant. I've been experimenting with the titles of my listing to 'force' this , but it's very hit and miss :-(
Very useful in my opinion. I sell different stuff and for certain items 70% of my shoppers come from Froogle. So, I love it. Still, you shouldn't glorify it and regard to Froogle as to your key to success.(I've seen some of these fellers) Although visitors come inside pre-warmed (read targeted), they will usually just hang around, fill in their baskets but leave without checkout. My own observations show that conversion rate from common traffic is 1% while that of Froogle reaches 5%. I mean, only 5 visitors coming in via Froogle will buy something. What are your conversion rates?
Theres an oscommerce contribution to enable froogle and similar product feeds to work in line with oscommerce - you guys reckon its worth the install?
I use it on a couple stores and you can cron it/etc. YES it is worth it if you know what you're doing. They're very precise on what you need for your feed.
so you would recommend the oscommerce contrib? I had downloaded it but in the shop process not got round to installing. What version you on? .w.
not a lot of visitors from froogle, but the small amount of those visitors are definitely more useful than for example search traffic users
Although I haven't used Froogle to its full potential (listing and prettyifying the listings), I haven't seen much traffic from it to my ecommerce site. I think it really helps if you have Google Checkout though.
I am big fan of Google Products, for eCommerce sites you can some really good targeted traffic. And if your prices are cheap, even better.
Google's Froogle, a comparison shopping search engine, allows buyers to compare prices for various items all in one place. Froogle used to be a place where you could sell things as well; however, that capacity has been switched over to Google Base.
