The link that used to show up on Google pages has been replaced with one to videos, and I don't see much happening with froogle lately.

is it becoming an orphan or abandoned child?

Google Product Search (froogle) is still killin' it. It's only growing and Google is making advances to GPS. I used to run affiliate stores on GPS until they started putting more effort into it, at which point my stores got shut down. It was a good ride for a while.

If you're a retailer and you aren't running on GPS, you should be! I've seen GPS bring in millions of dollars of revenue to retailers (and it's free to list your products!).

I wrote this post several weeks ago on my blog... long live GPS.

It's not dead, it's like saying Google Local Business Center is dead. It's not dead either, it's now Google Places and Froogle is now Google Products/Classified.

I wonder where one can get some stats on Froogle usage ? Anyone know what their growth is like ? Certainly in terms of comparison shopping froogle has been splattered like the proverbial frogger in the game by the same name.

As far as I can tell google product search is going well. I think google checkout has become more popular than amazon checkout.

Google has re-named its Froogle shopping search engine Google Product Search. The name Froogle was intended to be a pun on ‘frugal’ and was coined at a time when the company’s commercial ventures were in their infancy and the company was known for its intelligent wit as much as the accuracy of its search results.

No offense, but this all happened 3 years ago. Is everyone on this forum hiding under an effing rock? lol

And yes, Google Product Search kills it. If you're a retailer and not taking advantage of GPS, especially in our economy's state, "ur doin it rong".
