Froogle is working very well, and is used much than thought about.

Froogle - Does it even exist? lol.
Well Frugal came at a time when Big G thought there is big money in product comparison. Everyone at that time was building giant sites with lot of datafeeds and price comparison. Big G decided to eat the whole Pie, banned each and every site using datafeed, started its own Froogle. n my whole experience with G, I never saw such unethical behavior of Google. Obviously true to the core, eventually all the momentum was lost as there was no viable competition. Now it is one of the lost hope projects of Google.

For the record, I personally made good money out of Froogle.

I think the powers-that-be at Google were a little disappointed or even somewhat dumbfounded that the 'Froogle' name didn't take-off like their company name did. After all, a big percentage of their initial success was that silly sounding name that school kids (and teachers) loved to say.

Maybe not enough kids go shopping.

This is news to me, I had no idea that they changed the name. I just did a search and low and behold! I too am a bit surprised of that the Froogle Name did not take off... You would think Google with all their power and monopoly in the industry would be able to create a solid brand awareness.

Go to google and Sign up for an account, upload your products either one by one or by bulk uploads

You can also set up a feed.

Google base rules - they just need to place it front and center more often and integrate adwords into it very nicely

The problem with Froogle/Google Base is the lack of enforcement. Several months ago they changed and required bulk suppliers to provide a "price" that was effectively the minimum lot you sell times price. Basically they wanted it upfront because some would sell a minimum of 50, others 100 etc. Well people quickly found ways to circumvent that defeating the entire purpose of the change.

Now what you have is some playing by the rules, some skirting the rules by lowering the quantities but adding fees, and still many just putting up the same old single piece price despite the fact that you can never buy that amount on the landing page.

It could be and should be a great product but they seem to take no care in enforcing any of the rules.

Froogle used to be a service where people could add product/services and add price so consumers could compare etc.

But im sure its now updated to being called google products.

I use google base UK and get good results from it. In fact i could say 25% of my traffic is due to the products listings... saying that I have over 8000 products on there. I'm just dreading the day that all the companies in my industry figure out how well it can work and start spamming the system with thousands of the same product listings...

so, Google Product Search is what used to be Froogle. Is anyone here currently using this? What kind of results are you getting? Trying to figure out if it's worth using or not. Thanks!
