It looks neither Firefox neither Opera rocks any more. I just finished my browser speed test... http://www.evilscience.org/internet-explorer-vs-firefox-vs-opera-vs-chrome-vs-safari/
I have never heard about Firefox has a big security whole. In addition Firefox has a lot of add ons and customizable.
Theres nothing on the market, that can be compared to FF, and i dont think they will be for a very long time,FF is easy to use, easy to customize, with over 100+themes and add ons, what more can you want? And did i say its fast?
Best Browser? Depends on the use. Kinda like asking a golfer if a sand wedge is better than a driver. Just as I wouldn't go to a golf course with just one club in the bag... I use multiple browsers, and select based on what I'm doing. Firefox is the best power tool platform, but slow as mollasses if you load it up with goodies. Flock will accept most Firefox add-ons and moves much faster. It's my 5 iron, where Firefox is my driver. I use it more often but switch to FF when I need maximum number of tools, which allows me to run Flock with only those I use daily. Chrome is best for blazing speed... but you also cant do a helluvalot but browse compared to the other two. MSIE is on my hard drive for use on the occasional site where the idiot maintaining it doesnt make on-site features compliant with anything else (in some industries this is sadly prevalent), but aside from those instances I wouldnt use it any more than I'd drive my car with the air filter beside me in the front seat. IE may run slow but it picks up trash FAST. Quantified Speed Comparisons In the post linked above a guy at another forum did a pretty well documented speed comparison. His English isnt the best but his methodology is good. I wish he'd added FLOCK to his sample set, but the others he covered include the ones popularly mentioned here. If you havent tried Flock I'd say add it to the repertoire. It does a good job of seamlessly importing FF bookmarks and feeds, but you'll need to add any FF add-ons while you have Flock open. The "pick the tool by the job" method works best for me. YMMV
Ise use FF because well i just think its amazing!!! IE always seemed a bit out of date to me and with all the custom add-ons for firefox you will ALWAYS be busy!
1. Foxkeh is the cutest browser (Firefox Japan) 2. Firefox is the best browser 3. Opera is a safe browser 4. Safari is the fastest browser 5. Chrome is the second fastest and looks retro awesome 6. IE is..... BOOM EXPLOSION TIME
In my opinion firefox is the best. I've tried Opera, but didn't like it, I guess I'm just too much familiarized with firefox now to switch to something else..
i like firefox 2.x but not 3.0+ version because its so much of memory hog. Of course i love browsing with firefox and add-ons. I am using core2duo with 2gb ram, still it takes lot of time to startup.
I use both IE and FF. I prefer FF because of the plugins when I'm wanting to do something besides just surf the web.
Firefox3's memory consumption was drastically reduced compared to FF2 so I don't know what you are looking at. It was part of the "new features" introduction of FF3. I'm using a P4 with 1Gb and it does not take long to start up.
