Yeah, probably. I was grasping at straws at the time, I think. On the other hand, the idea of giving my backlinks to feedburner did seem more a propos. I also wonder if Feedburner is as important as it was say a year or so ago. My first blog was on Blogger (I've since switched to WordPress) and I needed the Atom-to-RSS conversion. These days, I think more people use readers like Bloglines or Google Reader or My Yahoo, etc., and they can read anything. I prefer direct links to me, which services like Bloglines retain.
Feedburner has a lot of features, but I don't have proof that it increased my traffic. I like to see how many feed subscribers I have, and it has many other good features as well.
I love Feedburner. The only thing that frustrates me about it is when bloggers who don't know what they're doing link to feedburner's shortcut URL rather than directly to my blog. If I could get Feedburner to stop re-writing my permalinks, I'd be most happy. (Maybe it's an option I'm not seeing...?)
I also became uncomfortable with feedburner having so much control over my feed...so I dropped it. I came across the AddThis button (AddThis.com). They do feeds and also bookmarks. Its cool!
No. The feedburner URL (which I no longer use) for my blog is http://feeds.feedburner.com/~u/psychlinks -- my actual URL is http://blog.psychlinks.ca (or http://blog.psychlinks.ca/feed/ for the RSS feed...).
