Is expired domains a good traffic source?

    You need to make sure that the previous domain web content do related , do have lot of backlink , index page and high PR .
    Make sure the domain name do not get banned or any blacklisted.

    If the domain and the content is suitable to you then you may easily target those traffic.
    Check the Traffic Analytic Properly.
