Is everything is going local....Need Opinions ASAP please

Over the past few months I have been experimenting with keyword relevant domains on a local level. Example: I created a website http:carwrecklawyersavannah.com and launched an adwords campaign to test the cost of using a local domain as opposed to a more general and broad domain. I noticed the cost was around 37% less based on the relevancy in the domain name because it was local. Am I wrong to assume I could save substantial money by purchasing local domains and launching multiple campaigns using these names? Tell me if this is a mistake or if this is smart please?

I think going local is pretty smart, especially since in some occasions this will allow going around the major sources of competition for some niches.

It depends on how much you're planning to spend on your adwords campaigns, I guess... will that 30-50% saving on bids cover the $10/year for registering the domain?

Also, I would take it slow if I were you... don't just go crazy and register 100 local domains, otherwise it may look like a link farm. Set up a couple of domains at a time, and make sure to splap some useful content in there.
