if you have a good mailing list you can get good quality traffic for free yes. but if not targeted emaisl are used you will get complaines
Yeah Email Marketing is good because it helps you 'reuse' traffic. Meaning, the same customers can buy again and again. You can identify your buying customers and hit them up with offers you're interested in for almost instant money. Not to mention that people possessing good mailing lists get a hell lot of JV requests. It's quite powerful because you have a 'traffic laser gun' that you can shoot anywhere you want, anytime you want. But on the other hand getting and maintaining a targeted email list is quite tiring as well as problems with deliverability issues, spam complaints...etc. I would not recommend you starting off with email marketing but in the long run when you start building your own sites, it's a must in my opinion. Just signup with a reputable provider like aweber.com and you're good to go.
If you have a legitimate, double opt-in, list with clean addys and interested customers, yes it's a good strategy. Spamming is a VERY bad one.
