i was going to signed up for ebay program, but it seemed so much more complicated than amazon. My blog is a guitar related blog (lessons etc,) and i want to have related products. all ebay would put up was some books and Guitar hero for PS2, but amaaon came up with all sorts of cool stuff. So i chose just to use amazon. am i making a mistake? thanks.
I feel it too complicated and I have seen lots of irregular activities from both buyers are sellers that made me forgot about it. I would try Amazon, Clickbank or look at this site where Guitar related affiliates are discussed: www.iol.ie/~murphypj/Recommended-affiliate-programs.htm
eBay is totally worth it. If you play with their advanced search and/or the RSS feed, you can get pretty much any product to show up. Might be worth having a look on eBay for vintage guitars (with big price tags), and blog about them instead of $5 lesson books.
the problem is that it seemd soo complicated that i didn't even feel like figuring it out when amazon was much easier. i'm not gonna blog about something i have no intrest in just to make mony. I'll sned up getting more this way with relevant adsense etc...
Yeah the commissions are low - but if you get enough of them each day it adds up pretty quickly. You might also want to consider Chitika - they have plenty of guitar related ads.
i just started this site 2 days ago and i don't have enough traffic for Chitika. They turned me down for another site b/c of the traffic. But when the time comes....
Ebay is a good program to join and given your site, you can certainly lead traffic to its variation of products available.
ok, so i just took a bit more time to look into the Ebay affiliate prgram. I think my original thoughts were wrong. I think i was getting bad results because i was not using the right tool. But i figured it out and now i can get very specific product categories. it's pretty cool. check it out: theguitarresource.blogspot.com/ (sorry, can't post links for another few days)
I have made some money with eBay, definately more than Amazon..which has been pathetic. I want to entually replace all lingering Amazon links with eBay.
