Is Ebay as an affiliate program dead?

I certainly believe so, since the time they converted it into a CPC model. Its just not the same, and I removed all links to ebay. Was actually earning decently before eBay Partner Network decided to turn its back on us :(

EPN is working very well for me. I'm getting high CPC rates. It's not enough to refer buyers, you have to refer buyers with LIFELONG value, such as repeat buyers, buyers who open up their own stores, and buyers who sign up for PayPal.

I wish they never left Commission Junction. That's where I saw my best commissions. Ever since the migration to EPN, it's gone downhill. I still see commissions but not as much.

I think from its beginnings to the present, eBay always thought of itself as providing a consumer service, with only it being a real "business." Everybody else using it is thought a hobbyist, even if they are power sellers or superaffiliates. The lopsided rules favoring buyers over sellers, use of Paypal-only as processor, and reduced advantages in the EPN is consistent with this.

You know, I'm glad I found this thread because I was afraid it was just me, my sites, etc. I read the EPN forum and it's not terribly helpful.

I've been revamping my sites, changing their focus (some drastically) so that I'm not sending any traffic to EPN from them and they're doing well.

I have a couple of sites that are still focused on EPN though and I'm not sure what to do with them yet as the niche is fairly limited and the domain name I chose wasn't broad enough to allow such a drastic shift (kicking myself!). Sigh. Eventually, I guess I'll dump them entirely. I find it laughable that as soon as I send a pile of traffic to EPN my earnings magically drop to zero. Still looking around for alternatives before I completely give up. Argh.

I went from making hundreds each month on EPN to just a few dollars. I realize I'm not a mega player, but it still bites.

I sometimes sell on eBay as well, and overall I have to say the entire experience is getting worse and the buyers aren't there like they used to be.

I think you should go with adsense instead of EPN, since EPN's CPA model is now over. Adsense can provide much better earnings compared compared to the "new EPN"

Yeah, I'm sure you're right. That and maybe Amazon. I was looking at another thread on here and what this guy was doing sounded like it might work for my problem sites.

If you are having troubles with eBay programs then turn your back to Google Adsense its very decent and popular too. No doubt about that.

You can still make excellent money with EPN, though it's hard to get new account approvals nowadays, but we still make good money, and even do a few JV with others earning 500-2,000 per month pretty easy.

Well my new account was not approved. And I take it from this thread that its not worth it. The reason I turned to them is my amazon is not working correctly. I guess I need to dig deeper and fix my Amazon and forget ebay. Its a shame my site is perfect for the old EPN.
