Unless you have an extremely premium domain name, you won't make much there. Forums like this are better to sell on.
I wouldn't sell through forums like this if you have a good domain name. The people here don't seem to want to invest more than $50 on anything. Websiteideas - you mention craigslist. Any experience selling domain name through them? Do you know if domain names have sold for more than a three figure sum through craigslist?
I have sold plenty of names in xxx -> xxxx range on forums but most sales are mid xx. If you have a premium name you should try other places then these forums as most exchanges seem to be wholesale based. I to would like to know about selling names on craigslist. I didn't even know there was a section for that. Mike
The best places that i think to sell your domains is sitepoint.com or namecheap. When i sold my old domain name i sold it for over 2k on sitepoint. On sitepoint there is serious buyers.
Maybe you've not seen some of the higher sales? There have been some high sales on this site. Also, webmasters here realise that it is completely possible to create an ass kicking site withour a good domain. Notting
Very true - I find many good sites having domain names with hyphen between each word and the sitename is long but has good PR and many hits per day.
Just open any domain which has few hours till the end of the auction and check how many people have seen the auction.. that's whould be your answer
Is there anything such as serious discourse left at DP? Or is just one sentence wise-cracks from teenager businessmen-wannabees?
I listed www.TrafficReport.com on eBay once and had very little response. By the way, if anyone here is technical and ambitious, I would be interested in hearing from you if you have any ideas for partnering/developing the site. One other thought, I did sell a domain name back in 2000 for $50,000 US; I did not even have to list it because the buyer had to have it. ("Glory days").
In my opinion eBay is not a good place to sell domains. People are posting thousands of turnkeysites there, all the same so it is kind of hard to find the good ones in that mess, thats one big reason why it is not a good idea to post your domain for sale there. //Andreas
I recently sold my first domains on ebay ....had to try it out. I sold 2 domains that were going to expire and got enough to reg 2 new ones now...soo not bad...lol Now I have 2 more on there.....but these 2 have a reserve... cause if I dont get enough I'll keep them. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=9725978481&rd=1&sspagename=STRK:MESE:IT&rd=1 Just incase anyone is curious....
unless your domain is high-profile one, i don't think you will have much luck selling your domains on ebay. try domain forums instead.
