Is duplicate content online really penalised by Google?

    Duplicate content will surely cause a penalty. Not ranking in serps is what I call penalty even if you do excess of link building but still you can not rank and maintain your position in serps

    I think my reply was pretty straight forward!

    Your website's archive from archive.org doesn't hurt and won't be considered as duplicated content cause archive.org has blocked crawlers and doesn't let search engines crawl your site's archive!

    It sounded like you were talking like I meant the domain archive.org
