I think they are dofollow but I'm not sure about recent. Earlier they were definitely dofollow cause my new sites used to get indexed quickly and on google it showed DP forums in which I had links on searching. But this time my site took some more time to get indexed and on google it doesn't show signature links I have in this forum.
I have seen a ton of debate on if forum signature links count. There are some people absolutely convinced they don't count. But I'm with you, they are dofollow and the site is strong - so why wouldn't they count?
Through experience they may make a difference if there is next to no competition in your niche. Once you get into anything that has competition you're on a loser I'm afraid.
Digital Point is probably one of the highest PR forums on the web. Their sig links carry value, just don't base your whole SEO effort on sig links.
wait so can anyone explain the difference to me on a google backlink and a regular backlink then cause this is like confusing me.
All my signature links show up in Google Webmaster, so they are DoFollow. If you want your site to be indexed by Google just submit you sitemap to Google Analytics. It only took 3 days after I submitted mine to be indexed.
People over at webmaster talk don't see the real value in forum links and only really see them as traffic links. I have seen a site rank no 1 in google just with links from this site. Not all of your DP links will show up from all of you posts because you will only get 1 per thread or DP will be controling the amount of links leaving the site as they can do this from the forum control panel. Its true about the low value in some sense but you can look through the archives for older threads that have been here for donkeys years and have been linked to and comment on them. I doubt you will find a thread higher than PR 2 though but I have seen it on some sites with large archives, but its usually the first page and all subsequent pages have low value. You never know, this thread might have a high PR in a few months but the links on it will be worthless and outdated.
Yeah DP sig is do follow. Download the mozilla add on nodofollow, if it's blue then it's dofollow and red for no follow.
i would assume they are do follow, there is a subforum of people selling ad spots in there sigs here, would be pointless to buy a ad in someones sig if they were no-follow
Yes my DP sig is a backlink to my page. Personally, I hope for more click through traffic from with the DP crowd as opposed to google juice. Although Google juice is alway nice too
All Digital Point forum signature links are do follow and count as back links. These type of back links can help you in getting search engine ranking.
