Is DP now blocking people who use ad filters?

Starting a few days ago, I am no longer able to navigate through DP's main menu unless I turn off my ad-blocking filters. Is this an intentional move by DP?

Probably, no. I use NIS and I never had any problems with its ad blocking feature....;)

    I think it's a problem with your ad-blocker and not DP. :).

I have been using KIS and never had any problem except when Shawn updated the forum. Did you check visiting DP with the Ad filters turned off?

First, let me see say that I use Safari for Mac. I use Saft to block ads.

Yes, when I turn off my ad filters, I can navigate fine, but then all the Google ads and other clutter appear while surfing DP.

I've been using DP for months, and it was never a problem until about a week ago. I didn't change anything with my filters. What I suspect is that DP could have changed the code of their menus and now it coincidentally matches one of my many custom filters somehow. I have like 500 in there. Every time I come across a new type of ad, I block it. However, I haven't added any new filters in at least a month.

I haven't seen any thread discussing such a change. Since this is a webmaster forum, any change will be easily spotted by someone.

I don't think so either. I use a proxy for FF and it blocks ads and I've been using this thing for years.

    I'm able to surf normally.

If a DP modertor could confirm whether or not they have changed ANYTHING in their link code within the last week or so, that would really help.

I think the only one that changes actual code is Shawn :)

I don't think Mods touch the code , just the mod panel for moving threads etc

I am sure Shawn will respond when he is free :)

Correct. No mod that I am aware of has anything to do with making changes to the code. That's a shawn deal.

Hmmm, I was just looking in the preferences for Saft in the Safari browser. There is an option called "Do not allow scripts to bring tab to front." That option has always been checked. Just for kicks, I unchecked that option and tried to navigate the DP menu with Saft's ad-blocking turned ON. Guess what--I can navigate again. So, it seems that someone at DP may have altered the way the menu link script works. Either that, or Saft has developed artificial intelligence, and I need to get the hell out of this room.
