Is DP being left to die?

I was reading a thread about the lack of updates to Digital Point vBulletin script, DP uses version v3.6.8, yet the Latest Version from vBulletin is 3.8.2.

Now Threads are popping up saying that DP is now banned from AdSense.

What does the future hold for DP?

I truly hope DP remains the best of the rest.

    Thanks Brian

With the way it has been running with pm`s and posts often taken hours to appear i would say its on its last legs

The forums used to be updated regularly but its not been updated in over a year

and then add to that the apparent adsense ban.

Sorry to say this but Good Bye Dp..........R.I.P

I hope they continue to keep it running. This is by far the best forums I've found on the web. It would be a real bummer if it died out.

Yeah I've been noticing ALOT of problems with DP recently.

    1. When I delete a PM it takes a few hours to actually delete.
    2. Really slow, threads take forever to load.
    3. When I do quick replies sometimes it just doesn't load the page and show my reply.
    4. Sometimes when I try to log on it doesn't.
    5. Sometimes when I try to access DP it says 'Failed to Connect' or 'Database Error'.

Quite alot of problems. Admins, I think you need to work on these :)

Well My 2 cents is its not being left to die if the owner didn't want it anymore they would be able to sell it for at least $1,000,000 One million US no problem also maybe they are working on a new look and update servers, it was only last year I heard that they paid $80,000 for some new servers.

There is no way on earth that anyone would let this site go. If DP is for sale I think any investor would lend me a million to buy it

Dont forget this forum is on a sub-domain so selling only the forum is`nt that easy.

Also the Admin has not been online in a long time, his last post was in November 2008.

This forum is being left to rot which is a shame

Its a good time for other forums to grab the market with latest software versions and professional management.

I don’t think the Mods have cpanel access.

The Mods are doing a good job under difficult circumstances.

    Thanks Brian

I didn’t say it did and I hope it’s not the end, I love DP.

It’s about time the forum script was updated for a start.

    Thanks Brian

LOL....I don't think this forum will die at all. Most likely the admins are updating some things and some things are not working as they should be for the present. Be patient, I am sure all will be back to normal soon.

Shawn is busy, and moderators can't do anything about servers, so people will need to learn to live with it.

nothing can ever replace dp. like it or hate it there's nothing else around like dp. it has it's own appeal. even others that complain about dp still visit this site for a reason: they can market and get questions answered unlike many other sites. as i see it, there's only 2 other forums out there that can really compete with dp(anyone that's been around know both) and on both you can find references to dp atleast once day if not more.

I wonder what got into adsense to be banning an account like that of a DP! The traffic is just too good and the amount of eyeballs it provides is excellent!

I just hope that DP is experimenting with some new features and/or upgrades and that things will become normal...soon! :)

    Regards,
