I am planning to build a travel site targeting an Asian country. Dot com domains are not available for my chosen keywords. Now I am considering to buy .ASIA TLD. But my problem is I never found .ASIA domain websites when I google for my normal searches. Is it because they are not SEO friendly? Please reply with your experience.
Hi, In my own experiences, domain suffix would not be a factor for ranking purpose. You could find many domains with .us, .co.uk and other suffixes ranking high on search engines. all the best,
but gugl might check where (in which market) an TLD(ending) is common and used. .org has a "good reputation" because of the high density of "good" and trustworth organisations. does a .asia domain rank better in asia than in USA? Another question arises from our (own) homepage http://www.weboffice.co.at .co.at is an official domain-ending and not a private sub-domain. Does gugl treat that "sub domain" equal with the TLD .at ?
if you are developing asian targeted site and have the domain in .asia extension, then you can register the domain if you wish. a regional targeted domain carries certain weight when it comes to serp ranking. for example, if you are targeting UK visitors and have a domain with co.uk extension, then naturally google will give preference to your domain over a .com domain (all other things being equal). then again, you can register a domain with any extension and set the targeted geo under your webmaster tool account to tell google which country you are targeting. benefit you will get from a regional domain will not be noticeable. you are required to do all other on and off page seo in order to rank your site just like any other domain.
Well TLD Top Level Domains are 3 .com, .net and .org.... There is not even 1% effect of domain suffix on seo.... You have not seen results for such domian because people don't do seo for these type of domains usually or just spam it too much that google refuses to show it up..... I have seen .co, .co.uk, .tv, .mobi and .me results many times against my searches....Some time even .asia came up on 1st page.... So it all depends how you do it..... All the best.....
its right that domain suffix not matter but when we are going with some specific area then it can give you a symbol. As my opinion suffix is not matter when you do wright SEO and build a clear website.
