Hi, I am new. Just want to know before i buy some domain names if privacy guard will make a significant difference in the price of the domain name.

And which registrar is better godaddy or namecheap?

    Thanks :)

For new registration, godaddy is great with privacy protection but you have to pay $10/year afterwards. Namecheap is great because the privacy protection is alot cheaper. Registerfly.com and 1and1.com offer free privacy protection with the domain name. In my opinion, privacy protection is neccessary and should always be free.

I personally like domain privacy a lot, just to protect origin of my ideas from direct competitors knowledge.

I use RegisterFly with free domain privacy for every domain, anyhow their service is sometimes slow or non-responsive. In terms of good customer service and fair value for money, I would recommend GoDaddy and I have no major personal experience with NameCheap.

Registerfly is not good for privacy protection anymore since my domains from registerfly reveal my infomation now! Registerlfy is closing. Do not register your domains at registerfly.com ever!

I use namecheap. Something like $8.88/year with privacy included. Can't argue with the service I have recieved so far.

I am sorry to refer to RegisterFly as a good registrar.

    They have currently big problems.

There is no difference in value of a domain with privacy or without. You can buy the privacy protection for few dollars or you get it for free with some registrars.
