    Good day,

It really is about perceived value and what people think it's worth.

Could anyone of imagined that google or yahoo would be worth so much?

Like most investments it's a gamble.

It is if you know what you are doing. Use a domain parking service that will run ads and split the profits with you.

It is profitable... Because the pages they add are very much Search Engine optimized. If your domain has a traffic, then you should go for it. But keep in mind they take bulk share of the revenue..

Does anyone have a case example of a parked domain that they own and how much it is making?

Domain parking has never been profitable for me.

I'd rather put up a one page content with adsense.

If you've got a good domain, it can be. Good luck getting a good domain though, they're all freakin gone.

I believe it all depends on the name u want to park. obviously if the name is not a type in name then development will be the best option. but if u have a name with type in traffic then Park it and u would make alot of money. You will also have to look into where to park. Some domains might do good at Sedo and some at Parked.com and others may be at name drive.

my personal choice would be Parked for US traffic and Sedo for UK and European traffic. with sedo i believe they kind rip you off they tend to get a big chunk of your money. with PARKED and Namedrive they would always pay much better.

well that is just my opinion and it is always best to try different services.

I use sedo and don't make much dough off it. Anyone have opinions on parking services that they make good money with? (besides the one's mentioned by majnoon)

I haven't really heard of anyone earning a huge amount of money just with domain parking. I think it's better if you just get a domain and make something out of it. Perhaps develop a site or a blog. I think that'd be better.
