Yes i would have to say having the keyword in your domain name really helps a lot with SEO but i have seen many sites rank high for top keywords without having the keyword in their domain.

    Yep, it does affect.
But keep in mind, PR sometimes worth more.

Page rank has absolutely nothing to do with the ranking of a site. This has been the case for quite a while.

I am pretty new here and thought that this is a good and quality forum. But, in every post I see many of +1 posts like here.

"Oh yes, it is good to have keyword in domain name!"

Sure, all of you just want to show your signature and make one more free link. That's not a problem, but moderators should do something and forbid that +1 posts in order to keep quality content in topics...

Now, after 15 +1 posts I will add my +1 but will try just a little bit to contribute and tell why it is good to have a keyword in domain name.

A domain name itself has no SEO weight but the point is that if you have keywords in your domain name you will have anchor text of incoming links to match your targeted keyword. Anchor text of incoming links is one of the most important SEO factors and will help a lot.

But what you should think also is that you should try to use keywords in domain name but also to include your brandname. Brands have better conversion rates!
