Recently, Domain Authority (DA) seems to be mentioned a lot and seems to be surpassing other metrics like Page Rank (PR) in measuring a site. What do you think?
PR has been irrelevant for a long time. PA and DA are a good guess by SEOmoz and definitely have more validity than PR. PR is simple to manipulate, misunderstood and fixated on far too much. If a site is an authority one (a true authority site, not just because it has lots of cr@ppy articles) then an in-content link on a new page would be worth more than a bunch of cr@ppy links on "pr blah domains" (just because a domain has some pr, doesn't mean other pages will have "juice"). Also, a high traffic (authority) site is more likely to convert some visitors to that link's target.
