I'm trying to rank a new site (nearly 2 months old) , for a keyword that returns 94 millions results on Google. I made my homework and manually checked all sites on first page (links, age, onpage SEO, etc.) I made onpage SEO for my website and I started to build links 6 weeks ago. Now I have much more backlinks than my competitors and links from higher PR pages as well but I'm still nowhere to be found, so the only diference between my website and first 10 sites for that keyword is just the age of the domain. Do you think it matters that much????? P.S. I dont think I'm being penalized or sandboxed as I rank 4th page for another keyword and 9th- 10th page for other longtail KW. URL: http://www.manandvan4u.com Keyword: man and van Search engine: Google.co.uk
Domain age plays one as a factor among many others (though its a little factor) in order to have a high ranking position on Search result. Domain age signify the longevity of the site and therefore has a higher relevancy score in google.
Ok, I understand that but my site has just over a thousand links and my competitors sites have tens of links...1st place has 2400 links (mainly blog comments), 2nd place has 80-90 links (also blog comments and a few directories) and so on...
Have you search site:manandvan4u.com in Google. I am not an expert but I think there are very few pages indexed by google. http://www.google.co.in/search?hl=e...te:manandvan4u.com&btnG=Search&meta=&aq=f&oq=
The site has 9 pages all indexed by google. Google webmaster tools shows 56 links, and yahoo siteexplorer shows 1100 links
its quite common for an old dom oldain with less backlinks to rank better than one with less. Try comparing PR between your site and your competition. That may give some kind of indication as well. Either way, old domains that have demonstrated relevancy over a long time can be tough competition. Just keep working towards it and you will get there. Remember that your site is only two months old
My site has PR0 (hopefully will go up next update as I bought some PR6, PR5 and PR4 links) Competitions PR : 1st place PR4, rest of them PR3 and PR2
in our modern world of fast and easy money only one of many useful criteria for G is domain age easy money makers come and go sites appear and disappear by the x-thousands daily the hard working publisher never minds short time success but plans years and decades or a full llifetime ahead hence the older a site - with SAME owner - the more trustworthy that site appears to Google AND all world as well and therefore it is much easier with proper strict SEO and publishing methods to get a honest SERPS right at once easy money makers on this world COPY other sites, steal content and ideas and want to grab part of older sites revenue without EVER having invested ten thousands of hours or ten thousands of $ to create content hence Google's selection methods may include many criteria and refine them month after months to make sure copiers drop out of business and unique content creators survive the key criteria for ALL www is to offer a valuable resource of UNIQUE value content to the world rather than a bunch of copied ideas for MFA sites certainly another criteria is if or NOT you use the FULL range of CLEAN professional publisher methods to publish / promote new pages published and if or how many OTHER sites have generic links to you ( social sites, blogs, other authority sites, .edu / .gov sites, etc ) if you NEVER participate in link building / link farming but keep publishing value content then after 10 or more years you may have many ten thousand generic links from all across the world something NO new site EVER can fake - no matter the $ innvested
By the nature of my website I cant publish fresh and quality content everyday or regulary....it is a site with a few pages that offers an offline service...it's more like a company website I'm not trying to fake anything and didn't steal anything from anyone...I'm just trying to rank my site If you would have bothered to check on google for my keywords you will see that 2nd or 3rd site is the most pathetic and crap site I have ever seen...so I doubt that Google get everything and everytime right...it's only a robot brother...so if you want to spend 10 years trying to rank a site which will be judged by a robot than go ahead and do so...I know I dont want to
domain Age is importance for SEO bcz if your domain is like 5year old so your backlink same as 5 year or 4year old so google will cache your site last 4year and get ranking if you site 3 month or 4month old so google give you good popularity and backlink but that means not your site will on good rank its depend on site Age and other Extra function.
one more thing you can do(if u r not doing) add a blog on your website and post post daily on it and notify google by bookmarking your links, you will be there soon, but make sure u r notifying google of ur new contents
This is absolutely true. Also, what can make an even bigger difference is to choose the correct domain name.
If the domain is older, so are the backlinks, the non-backlink mentions etc - 2 months is a short life for a site. Your backlinks won't be more than that, and as most backlinks don't get indexed straightaway, many of them will only be a month or less old.. It won't take 10 years to make an impression, but it will often take a few months to make a move on sites that are established in serps
google gives importance to the domain age and domain registration.the domain must be atleast 1 year old and registered for 5 years,
By using this query link:www.yourdomain.com you'll be able to see your backlinks in Google. Now try to evaluate the links you gathered if this links are relevant and well quality links. Number of linkbacks are not just the basis after all in order to rank higher against your competitor. Even though you have thousands of link over you competitor and you competitor do only have few but Relevant and Quality backlinks still Google will rank your competitor's site higher on search result.
