Is it necessary to get at least PR 1 your domain age matters for eg.. if any site launch in Feb 2013 and it's working well then google will update it's Pr or not?

age matter but not to much,
content & backlinks give you the good PR, even site with 6 month age can get the PR 3 :)

If your domain is 10 years but have no backlinks and no content then PR of your domain is 0.

Page rank as i understand has nothing to do with age. Backlinks are what makes a high PR website not age.

You're asking the wrong question. Rather, you should ask, is domain age important for ranking.

Age of the domain will easily balance or help to increase your page range.

False. A 10 year old registered domain with 0 backlinks will be PR0.

I am not seeing any relevancy between the domain age and pagerank. However, if you find domains with page ranks that are just registered few days back, then it could be a dropped domain.

I have a blog in the webmaster tool niche that went from pr0 to pr3 on this update and it is only 4 months old. I also have domains over 4 years old that were Pr2 and I would have swore would have jumped to pr4, but didn't move any. I don't believe age matters much. Of course a week old domain isn't going to get ranked in higher pr unless it had some massive backlinks from some major sites.

Actually, it usually shows up as a "?" or "N/A" or as "unrated." Then, it goes up to "0", and then on up to 10 if you work hard enough at it.

    i absolutely agree with this,
so aged domain with has built with natural backlinks is much more valuable to indexed and get pagerank rather than a massive and rapid link building

    Yes !!
Domain age matter a lot,i would like to say that the older domain with pr1 is much batter than the newer one. You can always increase the PR with quality backlinks.

Domain age affect more ranks in SERP (older = more trustworthy)
PR is mostly affected with quality of incoming backlinks, not by number of links like many people think

It is up to your website. your website has backlinks and good SERP rank I dont think domain age matter too much.

This is not true, One of the factors in increasing your pr rankings is the domain age but backlinks is not only the basis to increase your site's pr rankings.
