Is DMOZ relevant in the Google Economy?

Just how much relevance does DMOZ have, in your opinion, for ranking in this Google-dominated world?

There was a day when you'd trip over yourself to get listed in Yahoo...now it's Google. DMOZ seems to have gone the way of Betamax...

    Is it worth bothering anymore?

How many threads are there going to be on this?

DMOZ is just a good link to have; nothing more and nothing less. There are plenty of other ways to get good links.

That's my point...there are better links to be had. So why do we bother with it anymore? Habit?

Its still a good link to have. It only takes a matter of minutes to suggest a site. What is wrong with that?

Habit indeed! If you are going to submit to free directories, make sure that the ODP is on the list. Nothing more, nothing less... really.

If you do not bother with free directories, do not bother with the ODP.

If you do submit to free directories, you have an equal chance of getting listed on DMOZ as any other half done directory out there that does not charge.

    *shrug*
