    Hello,
Snapnames poped an error and put me on bid for that domain name , all i did was looked if it was available.

Should i bid on it or is that domain worth not high bucks?

What is the value or potential value if i develop it into a directory site.

    Domain : directorysurf.com

    Thanks

PaidHosting - as I wrote in my other posts, there is no such thing as accurate appraisal except for a few standard cases. Everything else is very subjective, and you have, to a certain degree, go by your gut feeling.

DNJournal could be a good source to give you some indication of current market prices (but that's usually for higher-end domains).

If you ask me, directorysurf.com is not worth $60 you'll pay SnapNames.

Thing is i am stuck with paying the same if other users do not bid :D , Cause their legal stuff says :

You may change your maximum bid at any time PRIOR to the beginning of an auction. Once a domain has been acquired and the auction has started, you may only increase a maximum bid. Once the auction has started, your bid becomes a legally binding agreement to purchase a domain for any amount at or below your maximum bid. SnapNames recommends that you place bids carefully.

Maybe if i win i can develop it, cause its the sites that are worth, rather than domainnames.

Your last sentence is the truth. By and large, domain speculation is not very profitable, unless you got in very early (mid-1990s) or have funds to bet on higher-end domains.

Just do the math: even if you make $200 bucks on each domain (most people don't get even close), you will have to turn over 200 domains a year to have any reasonable income (US, EU, Canada standards).

Developing a few domains on the other hand is a solid, long-term strategy which I favor. All the best.

Oh you mean i do not pay anyone to post?

How about 1 month of free hosting ? Would that create interest or be incentive enough

Well, there is even a simpler solution already built in to the vBulletin - leave people positive reps. Doesn't cost anything, but shows your appreciation of their effort.

I am in agreeance that the domain is not worth over $50. It's not bad and could possible make a good directory of directories.
