    Directory submission is still definitely useful because it helps you build backlinks and yes it is tedious but it is still definitely worth it

    yes directory submittion is useful but you have to submit in good pr directories and also submit your link to appropriate category. if your link is approved then you should get very good quality one way link for your website.

    You should be submitting to the correct category, correct list of directories and you must be changing your title and descriptions often for directory submissions to be effective. "How many", depends on competition for the keywords you are optimizing for.
