Directory submission is a very slow SEO method. Usually you have to wait for several months for approving your links. But it will help in the long run!
Directory submission helps to ranking up of your website keywords increase traffic this is best one way link...
I'm starting to see some promising results with directory submission, but don't let it be your only link building focus.
Is it worth it to submit to Yahoo Directory? That seems to be one of the big directories but they want $299 a year. In the end it seems like my $299 may be better spent elsewhere. Any thoughts?
There are directory websites that help your site/business site to be found. Usually, these are the reputable diretory websites that had been up for years. Although, it does not mean that a new one will not be. It helps to focus on niche directories specific to the service you are offering. Or a location specific directory that provide listings for different services. Of course, being listed on dmoz.org would be best but this takes time. I suggest you build your reputation first and wait until you have enough pages/posts before you attempt in submitting your site to odp. 50 pages website would have more chance of being approved than a 5 page website. Having said all this, web directory submission is just one of many things you can do in order to gain visitors and possible clients. There are an awful lot more. But this is beyond the topic you have raised and therefore I will not discuss it on here. All the best.
google also recommend good directory links read at the bottom of the first post by google of this below page http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2010/06/quality-links-to-your-site.html Directory entries are often mentioned as another way to promote young sites in the Google index. There are great, topical directories that add value to the Internet. But there are not many of them in proportion to those of lower quality. If you decide to submit your site to a directory, make sure it's on topic, moderated, and well structured. Mass submissions, which are sometimes offered as a quick work-around SEO method, are mostly useless and not likely to serve your purposes.
Any link from a quality domain helps. Just stay away from 100.000 directories in one day submission services. That will definitely do more harm than good.
Yes directory submission is helpful but it is not sufficient you may be using other method to boost your site, like forum posting, article submission, blog comments etc
