is directory submission necessary or not?

    i read in some sites that without directory submission we can optimise a website
    and directoty submission in old way of increasing ranks?
    is it right??:confused:

    Yup, Directory is not the only way to improve your rank but directory can give backlinks,.....So still backlinks is a backlinks and it will also improve your site link popularity.

    Needed ? No. Does it help, yes it does. Make sure you submit to good places though, high pr directories that have do follow (as in no rel="nofollow").

    yes, we can optimise a website without directory submission, becaz directory submission only help to get quality backlinks and if u make quality one way backlinks with other methods then u can build good serp site without directory submission.

    but directory submission is the best and easy method to get quality backlinks. so dont forgot to do manual directory submission to increase your serp. :)

    Directories submission can help with anchor text and to rank certain key phrases and also provide backlinks. Directory submission is more beneficial for new sites that have no backlinks yet and pages that are trying to rank well for long tail keywords.

    Yes, that is right, directory submissions in not necessary, you can get backlinks through other means like link exchange, article submissions, blog comments, article publishing. That's not to say that you can't do directory submissions as well as there's nothing wrong with directory submissions if its to quality directories that aren't filled with spam :)

    Submitting to directories is not necessary if you don't want to improve your site rankings to the search engines. Directories can help improve your rankings to the search engines....
