Many Expert said : to get huge traffic , it is better to Submit good, “original content” articles (500-700 words long) to some Directoty? I am doubt That Directory is still good site to get traffic. Member DP , My Question: Does It still run well / is it still reasonable to do that ?
Yes, Of course Directory is still good site get traffic. There is nothing wrong in that if you do it properly. Thanks, Peter
Do you submit to free or paid directories? Submit pages usually works good on directories. Maybe you send spammy or poor website........
If you are relying solely on directories for your primary source of traffic, then I would say, NO, not a good idea, nor was it ever really. Its one cog on the wheel that is the overall linking strategy that you choose to employ. Does it help, of course. Does it play an integral role, again, yes. Is it any less effective today than it was say 5 years ago? I don't believe so. We get a lot of feedback from those that list with us and based on that information and input its fairly easy for me to say that directories do indeed generate traffic, albeit "indirect" in most cases; it's traffic non-the-less.
Directories are still good but you have to supplement them with advanced link building processes like contextual link building, blogging and web 2.0. And of course don't forget social media.
I think its important to be in the most relevant directories you can find. A lot of people will just follow lists of directories and submit to all of them without searching if there are more relevant ones available.
Directory used to be backlinks and few large directory would send you some traffic, most would not do that.
I see you still got that problem with stalking me - you need to get help for that. At least I don't lie and make stuff up to mislead people. You got so busted previously I thought you would have gone away. Go back and check the thread I called you out. Notice how EVERYONE agreed with me that you were bullshitting. Once a bullshiter, always a bullshiter. Even in the complaint thread you made about me, EVERYONE was ridiculing you - how embarrassing is that? Go get some help.
Direct backlinks are good enough if it looks natural and i would say to not just follow directories to get traffic but also use Social Media sites because SMO has already replaced traditional SEO today.
I think directories will always be a good source of traffic. I know people who have written quality articles years ago and are still getting traffic & sales from them today. My preference is to write an article, and post it on my blog first because I get traffic a lot faster on my blog.
The problem with directories is everyone thinks they can submit their spun or poorly written garbage to their and capitalize on them. Over the years, Google has made various tweaks and adjustments in their code to tune out most of these directories. Are some of them still decent? Sure. However, directories were never really for the sole purpose of traffic, they were mainly used for the backlink juice and authority that they used to have. Now though, I'm going to say it's far better utilizing Web 2.0 properties and social networks for your original content than it is to use directories. The problem is, Google is cracking down on poor quality content everywhere and people seem to think they can still get by on it.
Well established experts from prominent companies never said it. Simply some so-called seo analyst or content writers encourage it to do so, to get their own benefits.
I have never heard of getting "huge traffic" from directories. Most dir traffic I have gotten was small a few hits a day from a good dir. How many people do you know that go to directories to look for websites ? 1? 0?
I am a beginner but as far as my knowledge is concerned, so directories have multiple definition: Link Farms Quality but automated directories Local Directories Human edited directories Article directories Bookmark directories RSS directories Out of these Human edited and local (human edited) directories are still good and work
