Is developing product label considered copywriting or content?

If someone is trying to come up with names for their products would this be considered copyrighting or content? Where would a person go to find someone to assist them with coming up with product names or labels for their brand?

Technically it is classified as brand development. A copywriter would be more equipped to help you than a content/essay writer. There are also companies that specialize in developing product names. If you go the route of a "naming" company, the prices can easily run as much as $4,000 a name.

You can have anyone help you come up with ideas for company and product names.

Then you must research and find out if any other company is already using the names you compile.

Brand names are Trademarked, that is what protects them from being used by others businesses impersonating your business.

You need to do a lot of research to determine if a name will be free of conflicts for your use, including trademark records searches.

Whether or not a name a trade name is registered or not, you do not want to use one that is already being used by anyone else for a similar product or service.

When you find a clean name then you might want to hire a trademark attorney to file a trademark on the name you select after he double checks that the name is free of conflicts.
