If you are so worried about using a card online, ask your bank to provide an alt bank account inside your main bank account and then transfer main portion of your balance to the alt account. Since your card is only connected to your main bank account, no one is able to charge your card for more than what is inside it. Let's say you need to buy something worth 200$, then transfer 200$ from your alt account to the main and let them charge you. By doing that you can prevent double charges as well.

Yes even using Debit cards than Credit is safer since you can't withdraw more than you have if you get scammed unlike with credit cards...

The usage of visa debit card has been approved world wide. It always a good practice to have a separate account for visa debit that you going to use for online transaction. Some bank allow you to have more than 1 account with them.

I dont think it makes a difference. You can always call us your credit card company and dispute the charge. There has never been a problem with mine refunding fraudulent charges.

debit cards are pretty much safer than your credit card for the fact that you can control the amount of load you can put in to the account. been using debit cards to purchased online stuff and never had any problems so far.

Good point iTube but the point you mentioned is of convenience than risk factor.

People don't talk sense on here. Credit cards are safer and more secure.

If you lose your money, you can call your bank and they have to give you back your money if you use a credit card. If you use a debit card then they dont have to give you anything back.

I don't think using debit card online is risky. It also depends on the site you use. You should not use debit or credit cards on a scam site for that matter.

Don't let smoke out your ass unnecessarily. This is not the freeway.

So you mean to say whenever I lose my money through my credit card the bank will provide CASH to me???!You dumbfuck!Lol

There is only a certain amount of security a bank can provide.

If the banks provide money whenever someone lost money through credit cards the bank would go bankrupt. Please tell me WHICH bank provides CASH whenever someone loses money?I would like to inform the countless people who have lost money to scammers and hackers to get back their money!!!

with the amount of encryption on credit and debit card online software nowadays it is highly unlikely that you will get your details stolen just be web wise is something is too good to be true then it probably is and if a site looks unsafe don't buy from it and also check for verified signs from visa etc they are always good signs that a site is legit.

Ive been buying stuff online for 9-10 years and never had a problem just be careful like you would be with putting you pin in at a supermarket.

The risk is lower when using a debit card compared to using a credit card, unless you give out your account number and pin. For credit cards, once the card number is placed on the payment box of a website, it will automatically reflect on your bank statement once you receive it. For debit cards, you still have to acknowledge the transaction using a security code or pin to allow the seller to debit the right amount from your card.

Using a debit card when purchasing online is a good way to pay the supplier, but remember not to give out any pins or security code to just anyone especially online.

Debit card is more flexible to use. The Reason ...you dont go in Dept. But it NOT Safe.
When you make a Purchase the Money is Transferred from your balance..so sometimes a Clever Hacker might get away with this. The Simple Solution is to Use paypal with your Card and this makes it safe. The simplest way your Card can get hacked is by a key logger hidden in your System. Sometimes we just dont bother about the Mal ware in the Computer but it might be very dangerous...So use paypal and have a Good Antivirus.
    Cheers
