Is Dark Knight worth NO.1 at IMDB?

Hey guys. Watched the dark knight last week. Pretty decent movie. But I was wondering whether it really deserves the top spot at IMDB, like is it the best movie ever? I don think so. Its a good movie, but does not deserve this much hype. What do u all think?

 

sorry to see u banned.. i am also in a similar research! I also didnt find anything great in movie to deserve IMDB top(9.4) rating,I would give it 7 stars.

 

deffinatly IMO it had everything you could want in a movie. people will complain that the gordfather should be up there i disagree though, shawshank is better than the godfather and TDK is better than both IMO

 

TDK is an awesome movie, but I wonder if it'll stand the test of time. Subjectively though, it's one of the best movies I've seen in a very long time.

The movie made more money than any other movie in the box office...it even beat the Titanic...The movie itself was amazing unlike you see on other movies...usually the store continues with another movie

 

its good movie but not too good to be no. 1 in imdb!

i dont get it why this movie get so much publicity even there are way better movies than this.

 

I hated "The Dark Knight" and thought Heath Ledger was horrible.

Gave TDK a "1" at IMDB, to balance out all the moron voters who give it 10's.

It was a "better than the average" movie but it shouldn't be #1 on IMDB. In fact, it is really far from all the other great movies out there.

 

As it is still relatively new, the votes will all be high. This time next year expect to see the next Harry Potter at #1, or something equally banal. Over time, though, it will regress to a mean and Dark Knight will settle into its true position. As appears to already be happening, to some extent.

My opinion of the movie is that it was very good, but not even the best movie of 2008. I would give that accolade to Wall-E, but then Wall-E doesn't have a bunch of internet nerd fanboys ready to spam websites in order to make it the best film ever like DK does!

especially for Heath Ledgers performance in it

Best movie ever - definitely not. It was an amazing movie though. Certainly one of the best of the year, possibly THE best.

Good movie, maybe the best of the year in 2008. The cinematography, sound, and Heath Ledger's performance were outstanding. The other performances were all very good. I had some issues with the writing, plot, and editing/direction in some of the scenes though. But altogether a very good movie. Best of all time? I don't think so.
