Is CPM static per IP or per site?

I'm curious if AdSense CPM is a static ad based on the user or the whole site. For instance I have seen an ad for Cell Phones for the last three days here at DP.

Does everyone see that or can it be different for someone else (as I know there are quite a few here)

    Cheers

I'm seeing the cell phone ads here too. But on some sites I am pretty sure I am seeing localized ads.

Also seeing cell ads. Weird. And as long as someone keeps making a reply like this, we probably will :D

It's still geotargeted so not necessarily displayed to all.

I guess you're struggling outbidding (the badly written) cellphone ad thgouh I did see your Article Stream site targeting ad for just one impression a few minutes ago.

Exactly...I am using the Article Stream one just to try to establish average click through rates and prices at the top SEO forums. I haven't seen a lot of information on optimizing for AdSense CPM so I am trying to get a feel for it.

I'm not usually a content advertiser (with allt he fraud I prefer search) but I like the idea of selecting the sites so I thought I would play with it today.

I tried it, cost way too much. It did convert but the margin was completely squandered on impressions.

You'll have to keep increasing your bid until you find the treshold where you beat the other. So basically that means you'll go from 0 imps when bidding say $7.50 to thousands and thousands when bidding $7.75 is the other geezer bids $7.60. So all of a sudden you open the floodgates and out goes your money.

I'm already finding its fairly pricey. Of course I set my CPM about 3 times what it actually is it right now it seems. I also limited my Geographic area. Looks like it charges you just over the person below you, just like normal AdWords.

I actually turned it off after an hour. It was interesting to see what the CPM of this site is.

I find it hard to believe given what I saw that the cell phone ad is very effecient.
