I'm curious as to if anyone makes a living writing articles. If so, and you feel comfortable doing so, I would love to hear how much your annual income is.

I'll save you a lot of time. Yes, you can make six figures writing.

As to whether or not you WILL is a whole other matter.

I've been exploring the article writing arena, but haven't gone in with both feet. Writers I've hired/worked with in the past made anywhere from 20k to 80k a year. It all depends on your talents and how much time and effort you put into it...no secret there.

A great place to learn about this topic is Ezine Articles...tons of info.

Well, it depends on the type of approach you'll make towards copywriting. Just like in any other business or job, you'll be able to make copywriting a sort of a career if you're going to invest in it. (think of attending seminars, reading MORE books, and reading online artiles). It's a very lucrative idea, if you're going to ask me.

DiscussNow - As others have mentioned, you can make a full time living with a copywriting career. I'm not sure if you saw my post yesterday, but last month I made $5k as a freelance writer, and that was on the low end of things for me - http://www.chrisblogging.com/freelance-writing-income-july-2007/

You can make a lot of money if you put your mind to it!

I do earn a living writing. You can do it, but you should keep the following points in mind:

    - Your writing must be only THE BEST
    - You must be willing to promote/market yourself
    - Be active in forums/settings where people NEED writers
    - Market yourself offline
    - Give your clients more than they're paying for (if you do, they'll love you and keep coming back for more, AND will refer their collegues to you)

    Hope this helps!

Yes, there's a lot of money to be made from writing. You just need to get out there and market yourself.

I am leaving my full time job soon as I am making enough to be able to do so.

With regard to how much is enough, it varies.

If you have what it takes, you can earn a six figure income.

    Does that answer your question?:)
