Google regularly searches for the fresh content and show the best quality content in the top rankings. I have one blogspot blog which has once came at 5th position for fixed deposits in google but as i stopped updating it was no where in the 20 results..

Content is important in Yahoo, by my experience. I ranked 2nd in Yahoo after a week, and only 20th in Google. Yahoo doesn't demand domain age, and backlinks so much, but Google does.

Content works very good in Google images. Getting on 1st page is a peace of cake, 1st and 2nd place can be achieved if you consider alt tags, text under image and in text arround it and in the title of the article.

As my experience, i still think that the content is still the king, especially in google. But in native search engine, this idea is very right, for inflence of ads.

did ya ever though why you always jus roam around and search in google ....when in the end u dun find wat yr looking for? after all yr tries and endeavors you stick to google and get the result out of it ...that outcome result is = content".....and everybody like new content and stuff....so does google.

So content will always be the "King"

    Hi Tripta
i read the whole post you referred. It states that besides providing good unique content, you also need to make links or make friends in your community. And that's very true. If you are just writing a good piece of note and posted it without making it popular by connecting to people, it would have very low effect. For sites content is still the king. but for blogs, you need:
good content + good links also(here links means friend circle on that particular blog or social market.)

I think it will be forever king and there is no other option for search engines better than ranking other instead of content.

And I also agree that nowadays the main marketing platform is social media but I don't think it will work forever like content did till now.

By and large everyone agrees with the fact that content is supreme. Fresh, unique and good content has been and will always be appreciated by readers. Reading the same thing over and over again is boring and nobody likes it. I think social media, better web 2.0 has just added a different dimension to it.
