This is actually 100% incorrect (both statistically and in common sense). The more hops go by without a sale - the more likely you are: a) promoting a product that wont convert, or b) promoting the product incorrectly and the more likely you will never get a sale
@dlm: - you're completely wrong in that I'm hijacking my own thread; that would be oxymoronic. - you're partly wrong in that in that I haven't yet a clear vision of how to move forward. I keep getting glimpses of what might be the best direction to follow, but no my vision isn't clear on the matter yet. Otherwise there wouldn't be much point in keeping a journal, would there? - you're actually right on your opinion about hops and statistics.... but come on guy, I was just trying to keep optimistic, here! Besides, the Scar product has shown to convert at 1:200 the most.
Yeah, but if he wanted to make it a journal he should have just said so up front. God knows there are already enough half finished journals around here.
@dlm: you, my friend are a curmudgeon. But you're still welcome, so suit yourself. Concerning the upkeep of this thread.Well, to be sure I'm not sure anymore I want to keep doing this, the reality-show type bum marketer full disclosure gig. I'll probably be keeping my experiments to myself more often. Keepin' it real with the whole stealth sniper type of marketistry, or whatever. You know... this thread, not unlike this experiment, is turning out to be somewhat of a disappointment: I'm just putting out too much and not getting any in return; I keep asking people direct questions, I even go as far as offering word credits for my writing service (that's free articles if you're slow on the uptake -_-; ), to anyone who effectively helps me move forward... and still, I'm not really going anywhere fast. Nada. Oh, whatever. I'll be around this place, maybe I'll resume this thread if the fancy strikes just the right way. Maybe the first sale is bound to happen just about anytime now!
lol Yes gotta agree with that, Dim always seems to be in a bad mood. Anyway Smitten how many articles have you got live so far?
@ michelle Hi. I've got 25 articles live: 16@base, 4@goarticles, 4@articlealley, 2pending@EZA, 8 blog posts in 5 separate blogs. You can check my articles base articles by following the link I've shown before, or querying google for "getting rid of scars" and following the article by Harry Best. The problem here is that I secured a first page SERPS placement for 2 long tails that were expected to generate 200 daily prospects... and they're barely turning out 5-10 views! I knew this could happen, but it's very annoying. If you want to help me figure this out, kindly refer to my google keywords tool thread. By the way... I was wondering: is it wrong for me to encourage you good people to vote and support and comment my articles, IF you happen to enjoy the content therein? I'm guessing that's actually the dirty little secret that will make AB articles work, right?
Day 17 Today I woke up to the first sale - a whooping $15, but more importantly a personal go-ahead. I'll take it as a sign I have to work harder to scale up faster. The first major goal has been achieved; next goal is reaching 10 sales. I guess my positivism wasn't misplaced after all! I'm still not sure if I want to keep this thread going, though. Right now, seems like a waste of time and energy.
Great job on your first sale! I'm very surprised it took that many hops to get it but I'm sure it will take less and less as your article marketing skills improve. I also found out some interesting info from an affiliate that is converting at almost 20%, I'll email it to you later today. Some other good news - the product has been making several sales daily for the past few days and there have still been no refunds! It's always nice to know you're promoting a quality product that actually helps people.
It is encouraging that you have made your first sale! I would have to agree that as you write more articles and begin to monitor the progress, you will begin to see exactly what kind of articles lead to sales. Remember, you do not really want to finish the article, sure you want to give your reader some good information and a quality experience, but hold a little bit back in order to achieve a higher CTR and get a greater quantity of targeted hops, which should lead to more sales.
well done. I wouldn't bother with a journal personally (apparantly mods don't allow it anyway) because like you said it takes a lot of time to document what you're doing and then people ask you questions non stop so you have to give up your free time for that, whether you continue is up to you. Just don't give up. The process is long and gruelling to get through but you'll see results, even if it does take a long time.
