Haha. I had just finished reading an article about how competitive ad filtering could actually help raise your revenue. So I went to my filter and I put down some sites that offer like free things, so sites that I thought wasn't paying much to keep their ads on my site. Well, I do this and head off to school. Then I come back home to check my earnings, and my face was like... My daily average of $30 was dramatically reduced when I found I had only made $3.60 today. So I got rid of the Ads that I filtered. I noticed two things with the Ads filtered: 1. There was a lot less clicks 2. My pay/click average went down by 50% So to those of you who think that competitive ad filtering is the way to go (and maybe it is), just be careful about what you filter out
Yes, ad filtering will reduce 50-75% from your earnings or even up to 95%! I have filtered 2 sites, and my revenue dropped 20%. And Google messaged me and suggested to remove the filtered ads so that I could have more earnings. When I did this, my earnings are back and going on. Ad filtering affects your earnings because maybe, is your site's competitor. And if an ad would appear on your site, that your site's visitors would see what are they looking for, they can see that ad and would possibly click them. That's based on my opinion and experience.
is it possible to work out which adds are getting clicked so I can filter the ones which don't get clicked?
Paul8386, I think that idea is not yet performed by AdSense. But as what I've known, you can do that with your Referral Ads only where you can track which avertiser pays most.
I don't believe that based on my own experience.. I have 190 filtered ads and it doesn't affect my earnings.
sometime it does affect your earnings but it does help alot by filtering your other websites coem showing on your site ..it really depend.
