Hi folks, I have a UK oriented website (which I hope to expand over the next year with the help of some foreign friends). In fact, its the first link in my sig. Anyway, I was wondering if the co-op network was suitable for me to join? I have no problem displaying links to other member's sites, but are the visitors to the other sites in the network, the sort of people who would visit my page? Basically, is the co-op network aimed at getting visitors via following links from other member's pages, or is it an attempt at increasing PR? thus increasing visitors coming in from Google? My thoughts are that people who visit the sites of other Co-op members, probably wouldn't want to visit my site, seeing as I'm all the way in the UK - and only serve UK people? Am I completley wrong in how I think the co-op network works? Cheers, Sham.
It does both, it's an ad network first and foremost yet also generates backlinks to your site as well (which helps with search engines).
Do some research yourself. You might see negative effects just blasting the website with co-op ad network. Dont count on co-op to be a magical tool to get ranking as its far from it in the long run consider the basics and of course link building options that dont involve co-op for success.
The coop is super powerful and I recomend experimenting on sites you could care less about before turning it up on a site you do
