No, if you want anybody to take you seriously. Come on, man, go to the Services section in this forum, do a few jobs and you'll earn enough $$ to buy a .com domain name!!!

    Spam
    Porn
    Warez
Another stupid "me and my dog" site

What Tankard has said is true. Search Engines (Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc) Dont take very seriously free domains such as "co.cc", the main reason is......because people dont take them seriously!
Honestly are you going to take serious a guy who promises gold, but doesnt have enough money to buy his own domain :|? The answer is no.

But can you rank and get indexed with a free domain? Yes you can, I just saw a download site for BluRay rips who ranked first on google for its keyword, and it was over .com sites with a free domain. Only Big G knows why but its possible to rank first with a free domain.

But if you plan to sell something, then forget it. Do some wasy jobs and get money for a .com domain.

Don't be cheap. Buy your own .com domain. It pays for itself if you plan on making more than $10 + $9.95/month with the site for domain + hosting.

If you can't afford $9 per year, you need to reconsider your marketing strategies...

The problem with free domains is nobody will take you seriously, especially if it's a site about earning money.

Write yourself a business plan and factor in the time you'll be investing. Makes that $9 look petty. Pay it, and pay for decent hosting.

I think you know the answer from what others replied and I would like to add a little more. You may consider using .co.cc domain as a link base. If you have built up enough backlinks to your .co.cc domain then it can be used as link supplement with a very low costs.

Yes, a co.cc domain is good to use for beginners , it is good to host your site with blogger and redirect it to a co.cc domain , but this is only for newbies. If you want to grow big then move on to a .com domain which is nowadays at a very low cost.

Do tell where I can get a .co.nz for free. I use the cheapest I've ever found and they're still 3x what I pay for my .com domains.

co.cc domains are always helpful to beginners. you can use the co.cc for getting used with html. Otherwise .com is the best.

I beg to differ. Unless you are doing a short lived campaign you might as well start building value into a domain you are going to use long term. Even if the use changes its still worthwhile.

I use co.cc domains for throwaway campaigns I'm doing. People usually aren't very in tune to the Internet so they see co.cc and think it's some type of company extension. Don't try to rank in a search engine with co.cc but if you're just doing a redirect then they work great.

Why not spend $10/year of one domain. Even it is for your personal website, you should get your own domain!

co.cc domains are free for the first year. If you need to continue with the them, you need shell out some money in the second year. I'll sugest you go with a unique domain.

I wouldn't bother. For about $2 you can pick up a .info domain.
