just be patient, cloakhost is not the type of company that wil abandon its customers. VERY reliable provider. Also bare in mind, its proxy server so who knows what kind of problems they're facing (problems exposed via customers' proxies) plus its spring break most users are on vacaton
kaung: nice to see cloakhost has support from its competitor. I agree they have provided good service. Something like this for a small hosting company can be devistating. Hopefully they don't lose to many customers. At least with a new motherboard you know its more than likely one less thing to break in the near future. You are also right it is spring break for a lot of the U.S. and Canada. If something like this was going to happen there couldn't be a much better time.
My site http://unlockmy.info is still down ): Ive had some emails from them, I hope we get a discount or something.
you should contact them directly maybe will be better , maybe they give you an answer + this can happen almost to everyone , any host from here
thanks for understanding. well noone's competitor to me because I am doing this for non profit per requests to start proxy hosting sharing, so if I get customers, thats good, if other reputable provider like cloakhost get customer,s its good and I have to help them out as well provided, its proxy issues (not same as normal server issues)
Ah, I'm late to find out this thread. Firstly, I have no words to apologize for the huge downtime on cloak2 server. Cloak1 wasn't down for much time while we are still having issues with cloak2 server. Here's what happened. 1. The IP's on both servers were null routed due to an abuse. cloak1+cloak2 down. 2. Cloak1 online again on a new IP and abuse report was taken care of. 2. The mainboard on cloak2 failed. 3. Replacement mainboard doesn't hold up. 4. New mainboard arrives by express shipping. Sadly, it doesn't even boot up. 5. OS reloaded on another mainboard with new IP. 6. Control panel licensing still pending. To make things worse, my internet connection was down for hours due to a storm...couldn't even build the softwares! This is the worst thing that can happen to a reputable hosting company like cloakhost who have provided quality service for many months now.
I got an email yesterday saying cloak2 was back up. I'm still unable to access my control panel and sites. Anyone else having problems or are you working??
Same thing. They emailed me that server2 is up but it is not! Anyone know a good alternate hosting provider? My sites down for over a week and I will definitely lose all my income from proxy because of this.
I just checked adsense and I'm getting a few hits on my proxy sites today. However I still can't access them in any way. There still looks to be a serious issue.
IwhiC: It looks like it was a DNS issue. Cloakhost has 2 DNS servers. NS3 and NS4. When trying to resolve by name NS4 resolved to the new IP cloakhost has. However NS3 was resolving to one of the old IP addresses. It didn't change until finally this morning. For some reason it looks like it wouldn't failover/resolve to the secondary, it just wanted to use the primary dns for me, until it finally updated today that is. All is well now though!
Well, hopefully the issues should be over. This @!##!! server sucked the juice out of me for a week. I'll update soon regarding refund. If anyone has any issue, please submit a support ticket.
seems like there's a problem with ns2 nameserver ns1 loads fast and fine but faulty ns2. Depending on your site setup, That is likely to make a slow load or nameserver resolving error. Just wait for few hours and I am pretty certain it will be fixed. agnivo007 will never let his customers down mate also I have a customer with a blog site and moved nameservers as in change ip for the main nameservers (in ch case, ip where ns1 and 2 are pointing to) and the site doesnt resolve to the nameservers of the datacenters are not picking up change a sfast as they should be these dyas and it took few days to resolve, and mean while it shows blank page or not found.
