We are looking to start our affiliate program with a few of the top affiliate sites... We run a very successful internet business currently, but it would be nice to have an army of affiliates boosting our sales. Any thought on using CJ? Does anyone here use CJ for selling? What are some tips to being sucsessful on CJ? And... is the investment really worth it, or is Clickbank better?
it can be worth it - if you implement it the right way and work hard on it...also, you gotta have a solid program
Clickbank doesn't have a very good reputation due to all the crappy products on there. Just my opinion) CJ on the other hand has the top name brand companies. I would go with them first and see how it goes. From an affiliate perspective, I would go all out and help affiliates (and you) as much as possible by providing quality banners, suggested emails, possible keyword lists etc. and any thing else along these lines.
I see...so basically its helping them make money.... which is logical. Would be great to hear some suggestions from a successful affilate advetiser how to help affiliates make money. Its kind of odd to me, if the seller had the "silver bullet" he wouldn't need affiliates in the first place no? just a thought.
I think either CJ or Google Affiliate Network is the place to be for BIG brands. For smaller companies, I think Shareasale has lots of potential and is thousands less in set up costs than CJ. You are comparing CJ vs Clickbank? They are two totally different animals. Is your product an info product? If so then CJ would probably not accept you and it would not be cost effective. CB would be better. If you have a physical product however, then CB is not even an option. Actually not quite true, I don't think. Even if the seller had the silver bullet the merchant can't be everywhere at once and optimized for every keyword. Many affiliates have heavily trafficked sites, big lists, social networks. They can reach people who would never hear about your company otherwise. Last I knew it was over $5,000 in set up costs. But I haven't checked prices for a few years, so it may have gone up?
