Hello, i recently added Chitika ads throughout one of my sites www.MVSpot.com and i was wondering what your thoughts are on them. Are they effective? Would you click them if you where a visitor? Is there any other ways i can make them looks better? Im going to trial Chitika for 2 weeks and see how they go i was making around $5-$10 a day using google but they dont allow these sites. Thanks Morgan
Chitika eMiniMalls can be pretty good. Their CTR is ususally low, however, the CPC is rather high, $0.5 - $1.2 from my experience.
I have actually noticed higher CTR with Chitika running on my website. It depends on placement and also the content of your site. Chitika works great on product websites.
Okay thanks for the replies, i was wondering more if the placement and look of the chitika ads on my site was allright? Maybe i need to change something? Thanks
The placement is good. And you haven't gone ad overboard by placing them everywhere. I would choose keywords that are more targeted to your movie website. Perhaps artist cds or DVDs? You can choose different ones for each ad unit on your site. Chitika works the best is you match the ads with directly what you site is about. It just may take a bit of testing in order to get the best CTR for your keyword choices.
I would try removing the borders... That would look better in my opinion and might also make it look less like an ad.
Try targetting your ads more rather than using the default. For example, the keyword "jessica simpson dvd" yields an ad for a Jessica Simpson Tour DVD. Just a suggestion.
Okay thanks for the suggestions i will leave them like this for a few days see how they go and then start to play around with them. Today i made $2.50 revenue which isnt too bad i dont think.
it sells well if you pick good keywords. you have FULL control over what you display. check out the chitika FAQ for some more tips.
Yeah I have good luck with really narrow targeting. Sometimes I will just go to amazon or shopping.com and look through products and then see if they return anything in the chitika search tool in the adsetup page.. Then I will add them in. with that site you might try music cds and such. Just wonder what kind of payouts they have. I have a feeling lower cost items don't deliver as much per click.
my forum is geared....well not geared but it's a celeb site. I look at sephora and find pretty products they're pretty cute to look at like this lip gloss
It is against the T.O.S. to discuss this but lets just say it is much better than Google Adsense on average for me.
Ive been making about $2.50 a day with chitika ill see what it turns out to be over the next week or so, might try and change a few things around to get more clicks.
