Hi guys, was wondering whether buying quality traffic to your website is considered illegal? I just want more people to know about my blog and stuff like that. Any advice would be appreciated :)

Paying for advertising is not illegal. People do it all of the time with PPC. If you are using adsense, I suggest that you read their guidelines so that you don't get banned.

Charged? So what happened after the charge? Did google took off your adsense advertisements after that?

It's not illegal, but I don't think in the end it does you much good. I think scammers use that tactic more to 'boost' their site numbers and claim the site is worth more than what it is.

Yes. Offenders face a MINIMUM jail sentence of 5 years, so I would careful.

Umm... but seriously... why in the world would it be illegal? Some specific techniques may be frowned upon by search engines (ie buying from "link farms")... but there's no law breaking going on.

If your site is good enough, it's not necessary to pay for advertising. so what you should focus on is the content.

If you have enough money to buy traffic to your website, why not spend your energy to establish your website.

Google is strict to in the web, why not spend much time to know its rule and something about SEO.

Paid traffic is not illegal, however google restricts traffic originating from PaidtoClick sites if you have their adsense on your site...otherwise, every one spends on marketing to get some useful customers in their business.
